Dr. Diana Bass has a passion for Dentistry which began as she grew up as the daughter of a dentist and has continued as she has pursued her commitment to help others perfect their smiles.
Dr. Bass attended Duke University for her undergraduate degree where she earned a BS in Biology and Psychology. She worked for the Clinical Neuropsychology Service at Duke Medical Center for four years before pursuing her career in dentistry. Dr. Bass received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. She then went on to complete a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, during which she served as Chief Resident in her second year. Dr. Bass is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society.
After her residency Dr. Bass held an associateship position with a Raleigh office completing all aspects of general dentistry as well as hospital dentistry. She holds full dental surgical privileges at WakeMed Raleigh where she was able to render comprehensive dental treatment in the operating room setting to patients with severe anxiety, special needs, or medical compromise. She most recently completed an associateship with a private practice in Durham which practiced comprehensive general and family dentistry prior to her decision to move back to her hometown.
Dr. Bass has experience in all aspects of dentistry including esthetic and functional restorative dentistry, Crown and Bridge including implant restorations, Oral Surgery and Root Canals. She prides herself on valuing patient education and working with patients to find the most conservative way to restore and maintain their teeth.
Dr. Bass is active in her community and has participated in multiple volunteer dentistry projects including the Missions of Mercy Dental Clinics through the North Carolina Dental Society and the dental bus at the annual Durham Homeless Connect Project.
Dr. Bass has recently moved back to her hometown after living in Durham for the past 17 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two young girls (ages 4 and 2). When she has time, she enjoys time outdoors and cheering on Duke Basketball.
